Privacy Policy

Cal it keeps your food diary on your phone. There is no account, no server of ours holding your data, and nothing to sign in to.
What We Collect
Nothing. Prioton LLC operates no server for Cal it and receives no data from it. We do not use analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting services. We cannot see your diary, your weight, your photos, or how you use the app.
What Stays on Your Device
Everything you enter lives in a database inside the app on your phone: your profile, your food and exercise log, custom foods, recipes and dishes, plans and shopping lists, weight entries, water, supplements and medications, targets, reminders, and your settings.
Meal photos are saved as files inside the app and are never uploaded anywhere. They are not written to your photo library unless you choose to share them yourself.
This data is included in your iPhone's own encrypted backup (iCloud Backup or a local backup), which is managed by Apple under Apple's terms, not ours. You can also export everything yourself as CSV or a backup file, and delete all of it from inside the app at any time.
When the App Uses the Internet
Cal it works offline. It reaches out only when a feature you have asked for needs a public reference database, and it sends only the term being looked up — never your identity, your diary, or anything that identifies you or your device beyond what any web request necessarily reveals, such as your IP address, to the service you are querying.
- Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org) — when you scan a barcode, the app asks for that product's nutrition facts. The barcode is the only thing sent.
- RxNorm and openFDA (National Library of Medicine, U.S. Food and Drug Administration) — when you search for a medication by name, that name is sent to look up the medicine.
- Dietary Supplement Label Database (National Institutes of Health) — when you search for a supplement by name, that name is sent to look up the label.
Each of these is an independent public service with its own privacy practices. Cal it sends them no account, no device identifier, and no other part of your diary.
If you choose to contribute a food you created to Open Food Facts, that food's name and nutrition values are published to their open database under their licence. This is off by default and only ever happens when you tap to share.
Photos and Camera
The camera is used to scan barcodes and to photograph meals. Photo library access is used only to attach pictures you pick. Images are processed entirely on your device; recognising what is in a meal photo runs on your iPhone using Apple's on-device Vision framework, and no image is ever sent off the phone.
Apple Health
If you grant permission, Cal it reads and writes nutrition, weight, and workout data through Apple Health. That exchange happens on your device, under Apple's HealthKit rules. We never receive it. Health data is never used for advertising and is never shared. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally by your phone. There is no push server and no message ever leaves your device.
Purchases
Cal it Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells the app whether the subscription is active; we never see your payment details. There is no receipt server of ours involved. Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction.
Children
Cal it is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Your Rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on your behalf. Your data is in your hands: export it or erase it from inside the app.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
